how to import XML data exported from the on-premise Confluence version 5.5.2

I would like to know how to import XML data exported from the on-premise's Confluence version 5.5.2 into the Confluence Cloud service.

Hi @HJ Yoon , 

to migrate from an XML export to Confluence Cloud, you will need to first import this XML into a temporary Confluence Server instance. You can use this documentation for this step : https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf711/restoring-a-site-1044782498.html

Then you can use Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant to migrate the data to the Cloud : https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/cloud-migration-methods-for-confluence/

Alexis Robert, thank you very much. Following your guidance, we were able to successfully migrate to the cloud.

We completed a selective space migration from a legacy Confluence server to Confluence Cloud through the following steps:

Step 1: Upgrade from Confluence Server 5.5.5 to Confluence 7.20 (using a trial license during this stage).

Step 2: Migrate data from Confluence 7.20 to Confluence Cloud using the Confluence Cloud

Migration Assistant.

Issues Encountered:

• Group Name/Space Key Conflicts: 
  • These issues may arise and need to be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
• Image Migration:
  • Some images may not migrate correctly, displaying a “broken image” message.
• Attachment Migration Failures:
  • Some attachments might fail to migrate. We proactively provided related information in advance by the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant.
