Hi,
that is a standard function and works just as you described it: You attach the image to one page and use it on multiple others.
Technically, you must extend the image path by adding the name of the page where the image is.
But confluence allows you do that automatically. Just add the image as always and then use the search tab to find and include images from other pages and spaces.
There are lots of descriptions for this depending on your version.
Here is the description from https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf56/confluence-user-s-guide/creating-content/using-the-editor/displaying-images as an example:
You can display an image that is attached to a different page of the same Confluence site, if you know the name of the image.
To display an image attached to a different page:
Alternatively, you can cut and paste the image from another page (the image will still be attached to the original page).
Does anyone know where this option has gone in the new Confluence Cloud UI?
I can't find it.

Pretty sure it's gone. One of the many very useful (essential) features that have been removed lately...

Yeap, its gone and only offers Giphy or upload from somewhere - but I really need to re-use the image off an existing/updated Glify diagram :( Thanks.

Yes, by creating a html tag and reference the src to the location of the image:
{html} <img src="https://your.confluence.address/confluence/download/attachments/28910447/image2015-9-29.png?version=1&modificationDate=1443528236000&api=v2"> {html}
This requires Bob Swift html add-on.

Or do it correctly and use the built-in function as Steffen says. To use the html tags, you have to enable a potentially dangerous set of macros. There's no need to mess around with them, images from other pages/spaces is supported natively and safely.

To add an existing Gliffy diagram, just choose the Gliffy macro from the list. Then search for existing digram's and select "Link to original diagram". This worked for me.
