new user password

Hi,

We invited a user (user management>user>invite user), the user has no account at all on confluence. The new user received the invitation but was asked for password, what is the password they need to use? The user did not receive the password in the email?

I read this community info:

Does the article above applies still? the answer on the article is "There is no default password in Cloud and Confluence Administrator also can not set a password. If the users have a google.com email, they can use google authentication, if not, they should use the forgot password link to set their password."

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!!

• If you have invited the user for the first time and the user doesn't have Atlassian local account then it will ask to sign up.
• You have invited the user and user has already  Atlassian account then he need enter the password or he can reset the password.
• Just for an FYI there is no default password.

I see like:

Has access on site

Last seen on: February xx, 2022

Which means that the user has access to the site before and has Atlassian account? I invited again to have access on JIRA (same email) so that means that the user needs to enter the password he is using before right?

Also, for new user for the first time, do you have a screen shot of the content on the email sent of the invited user? Just want to have a look at it.

I will answer to your questions in same order.

1. As you said user has access and he has a Atlassian account with same email the need to user old account password or he can reset the password by clicking on forward password.
2. So he will get the Invitation email from the Atlassian when someone invite the user for the first time and the email will be look like the below screenshot and user need to click on the Join team.

1. Once user click on the Join the Team, then it will redirect to login page if user has already has the Atlassian Account with same email then he need to enter the password or he can reset the password.
2. For those who very new and don't have Atlassian Account then user need to signup or they can also login Google, Microsoft depending on ADP.
