Hi,
I recently imported an PDF document with about 750 pages to Confluence. The original document was about 4MB. Then I tried to export it again to PDF with the Confluence "Export to PDF" and the "Scroll PDF Exporter". Both files were about 18MB big.
Is there any way to reduce the size of the PDF files?
Thanks, Paul
I suppose Atlassian uses an unfavorable kind of pdf creation. We had a page export of 25 MB. Then we used compress file feature in Arcrobat Pro . It shrinked the file down to 0,9 MB.
Paul, I think you should check what makes the output PDF files so heavy. It is very unlikely to be the actual text.
If you identify the root cause (images, fonts, etc.), then you could fine-tune the template / settings used for the export, but you should find the root cause first.
