Hi
We have a linux box where confluence, jira, crucible all instance run with Tomcat Apache 8/0.47
Yesterday we had a strange behavior as all the application was not running. We restarted Apache , Jira & Crucible were running and need a separate restart for confluence.
This happened 4 -5 times and we continuously followed the same fix of restarting :)
We able to login to the box and we checked the confluence logs some warning on Heap memory leaks not sure if that caused the problem.
Luckily the app instance is stable from evening.
Any ideas what it caused the issue. I am unable to get any specific log information apart from above.
Any guidance and support will be appreciated so that we want to find the correct fix rather restart.
Thanks

Finally got the root cause of why its failing.. System trying to locate the CSV file which is not yet published.. Thats the reason :)
But having said that, is there any customization we can make such as confluence throwing the error "This action not permitted as file is not available" instead allowing user to publish and searching for the file ?
Hi
Is there any advice on my question ?

Hi
Please find the information from log
WARNING [ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Standalone]]] org.apache.catalina.valves.StuckThreadDetectionValve.notifyStuckThreadDetected Thread "http-nio-9643-exec-48" (id=1639) has been active for 63,975 milliseconds (since 6/4/19 2:57 PM) to serve the same request for https://URL/display/PDS/POC+Test?preview=%2F110297306%2F110297308%2Fxxxxxxxx_Test_Execution_Summary_20190603.csv and may be stuck (configured threshold for this StuckThreadDetectionValve is 60 seconds). There is/are 48 thread(s) in total that are monitored by this Valve and may be stuck.
I have 2 questions here
1) if certain things taking more execution time, can confluence can be configured to throw a error rather keep on trying to complete, this causing the application to fail
2) Want to understand why its taking this much time for the execution on the scenario which i mentioned in my previous note. ( CSV -> Macro)
Any help will be great

Hi
I just tried what the user did and found confluence instance is down.. Just followed these steps
1) Create a page
2) Upload a file and create a link for the same
3) Choose Other Macros
4) Select CSV from external content
5) Given link of the url
6) Click update / SAVE page.. Confluence instance down
Dont have any clue why its happening like that.

The version we are running is 6.4.3.. Fyi we are due for upgrade.. On a different note, i just had the discussion with the user who created that page.. He was trying to play with macro using an 2KB CSV file.
He uploaded the csv file to the page and wanted to create a chart from the file using the macro options.. ( Attached for reference)
Not sure if it helping just thought of sharing the details for your reference

There is no error in catalina.out... But there are warnings
But somewhat we doubted few links which we got using the following command
grep WARNING catalina.2019-06-04.log|grep StuckThreadDetectionValve|awk '{print $25}'|sort -u
When we clicked a link, the application gone down , as of now to stop bleeding we restricted those links so that no one can click them.. But still not able to find what exactly in that page.. ( it's a CSV attachment)
