Setting the author or a page - other than logged in user

We are migrating content from a different "forum" platform to Confluence. Since the other platform does not really offer tools to migrate the content, we are actually copy-pasting the content from the old platform to Confluence. We would like to maintain the author's by-line from the old platform in the Confluence media. But this means -

a. Would like to "assign" the author's name (probably different from the user that is copy-pasting).

b. Would like a "by-line" to appear in the Confluence page. How do we get the by-line to appear?

Hi Yaacov,

 

In order to change the author of a Confluence page, the database needs to be modified (so proceed with caution!), there's no easy way to do it.

Atlassian proved some steps for this, (but they don't support this):
