Short post functionality for Confluence landing page!

Whilst we have a lot of different spaces for different teams in Confluence, our main page functions as an internal Wiki, with the landing page doubling as a dashboard to quickly glance at and get an overview of some important communications. 

We have blog posts and use the macro to display them on this landing page but I'm wondering if anyone knows a different way to post shorter updates without using the blog. Something similar to a status update or post snippet. Something everyone can write and have displayed on this main landing page. 

Any help is very much appreciated.

Use the comment function.
Create a page without content, only with a page title and you can use the comment function on this page as the only functionality.
The disadvantage is that with many comments you have to jump to the end of the page with ctrl + end.
That would be a workaround with the standard functionality of confluence.
There are definitely third-party apps that come close to what you want.
