The Table of Contents macro will Display Section Numbering. How can Make this show with the heading? This shows in the Table of Contents, but not the body of the page. How do I enable that on the page headings?
Example:
1. First heading
1.1 Sub-heading 1 of First
1.2 Sub-heading 2 of First
2. Second heading
In Numbered Heading Sections, I found the opinion that, "Natively, you don't - numbered headings aren't particularly pretty or useful on web-based docs", followed by "so Confluence doesn't have them built in".
I don't agree and it appears that a paid solution like Numbered-headings is the only option. Why they're useful in the Table of Contents macro and not a page feels inconsistent - my 2 cents.
Yeah, the Numbered Headings app is the only solution I know of.

Can't be honestly true, that such a basic feature like numbered headings does still require a separate paid app, does it?

We wanted a numbered heading app that uses the same format as the table of contents macro. To our surprise none of the other apps on the marketplace do it.
