Sidebar text colour varies

Hello,

we're recently upgraded to 5.9.9 Server and I've noticed in one space (but not all spaces) that the colour of the text in the sidebar varies. 

For example, some of the Page Tree links are a dull grey-blue, but other are a slightly brighter version.

In fact I've just realised that the brighter ones become that colour after you click on them. This state persists even if you navigate away from the space and then come back to it via the Space Directory.

Why does it do this?
