Is there really no way to restrict who can execute or view a smart button? That seems a bit of a waste, for example what good a button that approves a page by changing its status, anyone can click it?
Please tell me there is a work around

for my knowledge you can show/hid a portion of your page through an external app like https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/202/visibility-for-confluence?tab=overview&hosting=cloud
