Hi everyone,
I’m interested in using Confluence Server for a file-heavy intranet site and am under the impression that:
1. Individual files attached to pages may be up to 2GB. (That’s the case for Confluence Cloud, at least. IS Confluence Server any different?)
2. The cumulative size of all files in the system is unbounded by Confluence, and merely a matter of available disk space.
Does that seem correct?
Kind regards,
Ben Leibert
Hi @Ben Leibert-
For #1 above, 2 GB is the maximum limit for Confluence server too though some users could upload files larger than this. Please refer to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-20912 for more details. This is not just about Confluence but several other factors are also in play.
If you want to leverage external drives in a server setting, please refer to https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Confluence-Cloud-Total-Attachments-Size-Limit/qaq-p/609655
For #2, yes, you are correct. The cumulative size of all files in the system is unbounded by Confluence, and merely a matter of available disk space. This link talks about this aspect : https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Confluence-Space-Size-Limitations/qaq-p/445359
I hope that helps.
best,
Kris G
