I just added a new user to my confluence install. I also created a specific group for the user. I assigned specific permissions to SpaceA, but when user logins he can see updates done in SpaceB and SpaceC and so on. He can also click on the updates link and see the content.
Any ideas?
Hi LD,
This typically means the permissions for those spaces are either open anonymously, open to the user, or open to a group the user is in.
To confirm the groups the user is in, go to > User Management, search for the user, and click on the user. The user's page should show any groups they are a part of.
Open the admin settings for one of the spaces they should not see, and go to the Permissions tab. Make sure none of these items have Read access for the space:

I hope this helps!

Hi @LD , to help you better, do you have Confluence Server or Confluence Cloud? In which groups is the user ? Can you see in his profile

I have my own confluence server.
User is a member of a newly created group. i called it confluence_external , i added permissions to the specific Space and that is what the user can see under Spaces, but he can also see things regarding other spaces under All updates , and he can also follow those links to see the content.

You have to check if the user is in the group "confluence-users", usually when a user is created he is automatically added to that group. Check the spaces he can see, if the group confluence-user is allowed to see.
