'Stop watching' link does not remove me as a watcher if I do not have permissions to that space anymore.
Our Confluence version 5.3.1.
A user watched a page or a space but now he doesn't have the permssions to access that page or space anymore.
If he goes now Profile > Watches, then he can still see the page / space as he is still watching it. If he then clicks "Stop Watching" then after the refresh the page or space is still listed with a link "Stop watching". No error message is provided and watching is just not removed.
Does anyone have a clue why is this happening or how to solve it?
We have a workaround - a user with admin rigths can end the watches for the user but this is still a workaround...
Best wishes,
Heily
Hi Heily,
Did you take a look in your Confluence log files? Maybe there is an error message there.
It probably comes down to the permissions like you already mention.
You could log this as a bug here : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF
Best regards,
Peter

This bug is now in atlassian jira - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-32136
While we used a workaround, it still seems a serious enough bug to be fixed.
