There isn't any storage limit for confluence server/DC unless the VM which confluence is hosted on has less disk space. SO if the VM has good storage space then it is good to go.
And there isn't any expiry date for files stored in confluence.
I would like to highlight a point on attachments thing, usually the maximum file size you can upload to Confluence is set by your system administrator. By default it's 100mb for a file.
