Stylesheet versus custom HTML

I am following the below link to remove the Child Pages from the bottom of a single page. 

Under Look and Feel i have Themes, Colour Scheme, layout, Stylesheet,, Change Space Logo and Breadcrumb Naviation Bar. I do not see "Custom HTML". I tried entering the text in the Stylesheet but it did not work. 

What am i doing wrong?
