I'm new to the Atlassian produt family... In Confluence, how can I quickly add tasks for users?
It looks like the only way I can do that right now is to edit a page and add the task there. I can't even just add a task in a blog post, the macro key does nothing in that field.
I am looking to replace my workflow that I currently do in Podio, by being able to assign tasks Ad-Hoc in addition to from specific references (the meeting minutes to tasks looks much cleaner in Confluence).
Additionally, is there anyway to view tasks in a Calender?
Hi Jackson!
Tasks in Confluence are created on pages, by choosing the Task list button in the editor or using the [] keyboard shortcut. In order to assign a task to a use, you need to use the @ keyboard shortcut and start typing the name of the assignee. You can also type // in order to add a due date for the task. You can find more details here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Working+with+Tasks
I'm not sure what you mean by "I can't even just add a task in a blog post, the macro key does nothing in that field." You should be able to add tasks in a blog post as well, and these tasks will also be collected in the task report macro, or in you "My tasks" page. You can find more details in the "Keeping track of tasks" section of the link above.
Currently it is not possible to view tasks in a Calendar. A workaround would be to use the task report macro and display the due date column in order to see all the incoming tasks (they are sorted by closest due date first). More information here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Task+Report+Macro
Hope that helps!
Stephanie

Inline tasks are only available in pages, they cannot be added to comments.

Jaskson, I've also raised a feature request to view tasks in calendars: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TEAMCAL-2307Would love to hear more on the ticket about your scenario, why you want this and how it would be helpful for your team.

Also as you mentioned, you can't add tasks in comments, we are tracking that one here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-26784. You may want ot watch that one to stay updated.

Concerning Tasks we have the issue that the date shortcut // works only with Internet Explorer 10, not with FireFox 31 (you will get only // and then another /). Is this a known issue?
