Trying to give my colleague rights to edit pages, but even though I follow the instructions from Atlassian it doesn't work. In every group or site I check she has the same rights as me, but she doesn't get the edit-pen and then she can't edit articles.

Can you please help?

THe user is Helene Damsgaard.

Good day @Guro_Herje_Haga,

Next to the tips mentioned by Tim, some permissions that have caught me off guard are:

  • Permissions inherited by the parent page
    • If the parent page has a lock, so will the child.
  • Confusion between groups
    • My test instance is full of "Confluence Admin" groups and variations, so when working with content & users, its always good to check the right group, the space permissions (and here also the individual user). Example, me a site admin cannot edit a page migrated until I give my user permissions.

Best of luck!

Hi @Guro_Herje_Haga, on a page the user cannot edit you might try the following:

  1. Press on the Ellipsis menu in the upper right corner (red circle in the image below)
  2. Select Restrictions
  3. On the Restrictions dialog, select Insepct permissions
  4. In the User's name dropdown find the user (Helene D....).
  5. In the Permission dropdown select Can view and edit

When the user is found, the dialog will indicate at which level the user was "stopped" when it comes to edit permission on that page.

Here you see an example of the permission report

When you have inspected the permissions you might post the result (image) in a comment here if you still cannot find where the "edit block" occurs.
