Is there away to turn off File versioning in the 5.6 version of confluence? I want the xls attachment that I have saved in my attachment directory to be the only one that I see or have.

Thanks

No, the attachments are versioned by design.  The link to "latest" will remain the same, as will the name presented by Confluence, but you can't turn off versioning.

You should not need to either - you should not be accessing the file via any route but Confluence anyway.  If you're reading it directly off the disk, you're doing it wrong.  If you're writing, you're also breaking things.

Yes, as Nic says, this is by design. You can remove previous versions by going directly into the attachments screen for the page. Cheers, Mark
