Operating System: Windows 10

Browser:  Firefox 59b6

Using Firefox version 59b6, I am unable to use CTRL+C to copy text on a page view.

CTRL+C instead will open the Page Create Dialog.

This does not occur for Firefox version 58.

Can anyone else verify this?

After hours of investigating and persistence, the following was discovered.

The default value for the Firefox user preference that defines keyboard shortcuts usage was not being honored.

Not sure why,  but the following will allow the copy of Confluence content if specifically set in the user.js file.

user_pref("permissions.default.shortcuts", 2);

The valid values for the preference is 0=default, 1=allow, 2=block

I have not needed to update this preference on other machines.

NOTE: Setting this preference to 2 will cause the Delete and Backpace key to not work in Confluence and possibly other applications.

Wow! Thank you for the information, Jason. Happy you were able to discover the issue with the user preferences in Firefox.

Take care,

Shannon

Hi Jason,

I just attempted to replicate this in Windows 10 running the new Firefox beta, and I was personally not able to replicate the issue. I did so by going to a page in Confluence, selecting the content, and typing CTRL+C. I can confirm the content was indeed copied.

Are you able to replicate this from other computers as well?

Regards,

Shannon
