Unable to insert Notes macro in table and lists in New Editor.

Kalpana Malladi August 26, 2021

The new editor of Confluence is severely limiting our control over the macros. Our team is facing the following issues:

1. Unable to insert Notes macro in tables and lists.

2. Unable to insert Excerpt macro in tables. In fact, we are unable to insert any macro in a table.

3. Unable to resize images when you left align them.

Given the extensive usage of these macros by our team, we would want to have more control over the editor, instead of the other way round.

If you have any workaround for these issues at the moment, please do share with us.

Hello Kalpana,

Hope you are doing well!

In the past, indeed it was not possible to add info, note, and other panels inside tables in the new editor, as well as the expand macro.

However, doing a quick test here on a new editor page, I have confirmed it is currently working as expected and it is possible to add panel macros as well expand macro inside tables:

However, nesting those macros on another inside a table is not possible currently, as mentioned in this feature request - Nest Expand or other Bodied Macros in another Macro

I have added this post as a reference to our team, but please feel free to add any feedback and comments on our feature request page as well!

About the resizing issues when aligning the image, it is possible that is related to the bug below:

However, if it is a bit different, please let us know! I have tried a few times and it works changing the size here though, but if you are still seeing any issues, feel free to share the steps with us! We'll happy to investigate that.

Kindest Regards,
Jessica
