I have an excel spreadsheet I am uploading to Confluence.  I use the macro to view the excel file.  Now I want to be able to have a search macro that I can use within Confluence to search that page and child pages and include the information from the excel file.

I have tried searching at the parent level, searching at the child level.  Using different search macros. Nothing seems to be working. No results are found.  I can go to a specific page and use the browsers "find" feature, but is the page isn't known, that is not very helpful.

EX. Parent page with 10 children. Search from parent for number 1234.  Number is in an excel file that is displayed on child page # 3. Want to have search direct to that page.

Anyone know if it is possible?

Hello Lisa,

If I got the issue correctly, we have a parent page and child page with an excel file.

  1. Parent page with "Livesearch" macro.
  2. Child page with "Office Excel" macro, and an Excel file attached to this page.

We want to search for contents in the Excel file, using the search macro, and want the Excel file and page to show up in the search results.

I tested this on my Confluence test instance, and it seems to be working.Livesearch macro.PNG

Searching for a text or digit in the Excel macro, using the Livesearch macro, or the default Confluence search box, the search returns the result as below.

Can I know if this is what you were trying to do as well, or if it's something else?

Cheers,
Sattesh
