A couple of days ago the connectivty between Sharepoint and Confluence mysteriously failed. At the time we were running 1.2. I have since upgraded to 1.4.9 but the errors persist.
I am running Sharepoint 2010 and Confluence 3.3.
In the Sharepoint Integration Administration page in Confluence I get this error message:
Connection Test: Problem connection to SharePoint (null). Check the atlassian-confluence.log for exception details.
I have attached a copy of the atlassian-confluence.log file with the relevant exceptions.
In Sharepoint I see this: Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type Atlassian.Confluence.SharePoint.UI.WebControls.WebParts.ConfluencePageWebPart, Atlassian.Confluence.SharePoint, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=96f82bd35ec392e7 could not be found or it is not registered as safe
Hi Sam,
The two errors you are seeing in SharePoint and Confluence are probably unrelated. It looks like your atlassian-confluence.log attachment didn't come through - could you try again? It's a pretty generic error message, so it's hard to know what the problem could be at this stage.
The problem with the "could not be found or is not registered as safe" error message might be related to this knowledge base article - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/SafeControl+Entries+for+the+Federated+Search+Results+WebPart+not+Added+Automatically+when+the+SharePoint+Connector+Feature+Is+Installed
My hunch at this point is that something has happened on the SharePoint side to stop things from working. Do you know if your SharePoint farm had any maintenance performed on it recently? Can you confirm that the Confluence SharePoint Connector's SharePoint feature is still installed and deployed to your SharePoint farm?
Thanks for the reply. I have attached the log (atlassian-confluence.log).
Within Sharepoint, when I do a connectivity test to Confluence it shows success. It is Confluence connecting to Sharepoint where the error occurs.
I will investigate the link above though.
Thanks

Judging by the contents of your log, it looks like you have installed the wrong version of the SharePoint Connector into Confluence. There are two different copies of v1.4.9 for Confluence. Once copy is for Confluence 3.4+ and one version is for Confluence 3.0 - 3.3.
I would recommend that you un-install the SharePoint Connector from Confluence and re-install it from this link: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.confluence.extra.sharepoint/version/1490

I could not see the two versions. However I am going to upgrade Confluence to 3.5(.13) and will then see what happens.
