What does Confluence have, out of the box or add on, for records management; ie document repository?

Tracking, lifecycle management and archiving are important aspects in Record Management.

Archiving Plugin implements these practices for Confluence pages, allowing to figure out what's outdated, what is not is use anymore, what should be archived.

If some content is picked up by the automatic tracking or some user suggested this to be cleaned up, the plugin will archive it along with its comments, attachmets, labels, and other assets.

You can create pages in confluence and upload attachments to those pages. They have a special page called a "file list" that presents the uploaded files along with some basic information/properties about the file. Check out their documentation - it's pretty thorough.
