What is the "Recommended in Confluence" about?

I started receiving these emails spontaneously. It looks like I'm getting a thumbnail of the page in a particular space that was most visited over some period of time.

How do I:

Control the space that is being monitored?

Control (or even discover) the time period that is being monitored?

Control (or even discover) the users that are being monitored?

In addition, if you do not intend to receive the Recommended Updates email notification, you can go to http://<confluence-url>users/viewmyemailsettings.action and unchecked the 'Subscribe to recommended updates' box. If you have done that but you are still receiving the mail, you might be hitting these known bugs:

These bug were already been fixed in the latest version of Confluence.

The URL you cited above (http://<confluence-url>users/viewmyemailsettings.action) does not work. I entered it as https://confluence.atlassian.com/users/viewmyemailsettings.action and got a 'page not found' error.

How should I enter this URL?

This is an extract, relevant to your specific questions:

Confluence chooses the content to display, based on:

• Pages and blog posts that people have recently liked.
• Pages and blog posts that people have recently commented on.
• Pages and blog posts that have recently been created.

'Recent' means any activity that occurred since the last recommended updates message was sent to you.

The activities are listed in order of popularity, with the most popular at the top. Likes, comments and content creations are scored equally. Activity that involves people in your network ranks higher than activity not involving your network. Content in your favourite spaces also ranks higher than content in other spaces. The recommended updates summary does not include any content that you created yourself, and it gives a lower ranking to content that you have participated in, for example by adding a comment or updating the page.
