Hello, I need to have a tool that puts the items within a table in alphabetical order. It needs to be specifically applied to one column.
Up until now I have been sorting the table items manually, but automating the issue will save time and eliminate human error.
I have looked through the tools already present in the 'edit' of the table. I have also looked through the macros available in the home page and I was not able to identify one fit for the purpose listed above.
Is there an existing macro that I can use?
Hi @Claudia Alioto,
There are no any native Confluence macros to sort tables, you may only click the arrows in the table header to perform sorting in the page view mode on the fly.
What concerns the apps from the Atlassian Marketplace that will enhance your experience with tables, our company develops the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app.
If we talk about native Confluence tables, our Table Filter macro has an option to set the default sorting that won’t be ruined accidently by other users (it works for the page view mode).
If you need more Excel-like experience (edit and sort your table both from the page view and page edit mode), you may use the Table Spreadsheet macro. Seems that it will fulfil your case.
