Whiteboards: Unable to upload PNG images to Confluence Whiteboards on any browser

 For the past week and a half, I’ve been unable to upload PNG images to the Confluence Whiteboard tool.

• Issue: When I try to upload a PNG (via drag & drop or manual upload), I get the error: “Failed to upload. Try again.”

• Browsers Tested:

  • Chrome Version 138.0.7204.169 (MacBook)

  • Brave 1.80.124

  • Safari Version 18.5 (20621.2.5.11.8)

• Behavior:

  • Issue occurs consistently across all browsers.

  • Other file types upload correctly; only PNGs fail.

• Duration: Issue has been occurring for approximately 1.5 weeks.

• Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open any Confluence Whiteboard.

  2. Attempt to upload a PNG image (drag & drop or use the upload button).

  3. Observe the error message: “Failed to upload. Try again.”

Could you provide guidance on resolving it?

For some reason it's working now. Not sure if something got adjusted but it's all clear.

Hi @Annie Johnson ,

I'd recommend reaching out to Atlassian Support regarding this.
Also, you will probably need to generate HAR file in order to support team to be able to assist you.
