We have problems with the speed of our Confluence cloud (one pages load ~3-8 sec.). To try a faster version, we set up the server version (Confluence 7.4.0). But we saw the differences in UI and functionality.
1) In the server version there are no widgets that I see in the cloud (Spaces, Recently Pages, Feed)
2) The server version has much less page templates than the cloud
3) In the server version there is no way to call the format menu "/" in page editing mode
Could you please clarify why I see different UI and features in the cloud and server versions?
Is it possible for the server version to have the same set of features, widgets and templates as for the cloud?
Thank you very much in advance!
@Elena Karaulova to access macros in server you need to use { 'open curly bracket'
Hi James! Thanks a lot for the answer!
Yes, with 'open curly bracket' I see several types of macros.
I’m upset by the fact that this is not the whole set of macros that the cloud version of Confluence has. According to the message above, I realized that it is impossible to make the same macros in the server version, because these are 2 different products.

The products have diverged significantly over the last 5 years, in architecture as well as behaviour. They're developed by two separate teams for two separate types of user base.
So, no, while they came from the same place, and have some things in common, features, widgets and gadgets do not flow from one to another much any more.
