Why can't I turn off the daily updates email?

For some reason every time I uncheck daily updates email subscription it get automatically re-enabled. See gif: https://a.cl.ly/ApuJyX0W

Is this a bug? Or does this indicate that it's on by default for everyone in my organization?

This is a bug according to Atlassian support and is being tracked here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-73736

Workaround is to filter out these emails using your email provider's filtering options.

Not seeing a way to edit my original question, but I tried different browsers and they showed the same behavior, so I don't think it's a browser issue.
