Why does my avatar keep resetting?

I set my avatar earlier this week to the picture below. I don't know when exactly it resets, but I've added it again twice already. In my Confluence instance, there are people with squirrels and giraffes as profile pictures, so I don't understand why mine keeps resetting. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. :)
Edit: for reference, I'm not using a hosting site. I'm uploading it directly from my computer. The original location is my personal Google Drive, but I don't know why that would affect it.

Edit 2: I feel like I'm going a bit off my rocker. My avatar came back for my Atlassian Community pages but it's still left off when I look at my profile in Confluence.

If you are still facing issues with your avatar, could you please perform the steps below?

# Navigate through id.atlassian.com
# Log in with the email address and the password
# Click on *Change avatar*
# Select the image and click on *Done*
# Finally, log out and log in the site
