To answer your question: Live docs use dynamic content rendering, which allows users to update the content in real time. This makes it very difficult for us to analyze changes and apply highlighting without interfering with Atlassian's rendering engine.
For this reason, we currently offer highlighting only for pages in view mode.
However, our R&D team is actively exploring workarounds and innovative solutions to address this limitation, though we cannot guarantee the availability of this feature in the future.
Kindly raise a feature request through our support portal to stay informed regarding this feature and its limitations.
