Workaround to trigger Confluence Automation when page started? And then insert template?

I would like to force a template when someone creates a child page under a specific parent page, and I thought an Automation rule would be the easy way to go.

But I'm realizing there is no trigger for page started (live page started, yes, but not a regular page).

Is there something I could set up with an incoming webhook that might be a decent work around?

I am also realizing there is no native action to insert/apply a template. Any ideas about work arounds?

Hi @Laura Campbell

Automation rules run after an event has happened.  And so they could not detect someone is in the process of creating a page.

Please also note the new Live Doc Started trigger fires when it is actually created...and so it is also after the event happened.

Kind regards,
Bill
