can't hook up my confluence instance with my stmp mail server

My mail server is providing stmp service, which is our company's mail service provider. I am sure that the stmp service is up since I'm receiving and sending email from local client application via the stmp service and that worked fine.

I tried to configure my confluence instance to send mail via my stmp server. 

However, the log reports that it didn't get response from my mail server which I don't know what to do about it.

You have to whitelist IP of your confluence on Mail Server.

Have you tried turning the email logging to DEBUG to get more information?
