Hey,
I am the system admin and I see that person xyz made 265 edits (contributors summary macro). But a space admin see that person xyz made 400 edits.
Did someone know what is wrong or has an idea?
Regards
Julia
Hi Julia,
Although you are a system administrator, that doesn't mean you have permissions to view every page (although as a site admin you could change the permissions to allow yourself to see everything). The macros, like everything else in Confluence, take into account what you can and can't see based on your permissions.
In this case, person xyz has made 400 edits, and 135 of those edits are on a page (or pages) that you don't have permission to view, but your space admin does.
Hi Rob,
thank you for your answer. This was my first idea but! I am also the space admin for the space. And we checked with the other space admin every site. We have the same permissions.
So there must be something else creating the change.
Kindly regards
Julia

Hi Julia,
Ah. If it's not permissions then...I'm really not sure. The only thing that affects the results in that macro is space/page permissions, so you might have found a bug. You'll need to raise a ticket with Atlassian and get them to look into it.
(Also, how have you managed to check that you and the other space admin have the exact same page-level permissions for every page in your site? I don't know of a way of doing this quickly and easily (we've got thousands of pages and it's essentially a manual process), so any tips you've got would be appreciated )

Hi Rob,
the space hasn't so much pages but yes, it was a manual process. And we did a mistake. We missed ONE single site no bug
So your solution was great. Thank you.
But I had an idea:
So copy and paste the restricted pages of both persons into excel ((space configuration/ tab Permission/ tab restricted pages)), clean up the data and try VLOOKUP() function? Could that probably work?

Excellent, I'm glad you got it sorted
We've got some quite a lot of restrictions across quite a lot of spaces, so anything that makes it easier to do a diff on 2 users is welcome. The idea of pouring it into Excel and using the tools there is a good one, I'll play around with it. Thanks for the suggestion!
