I have an excel sheet with 400 rows and 20 columns. I have few pages in Confluence where I would like some fields to be populated with the content of the excel. How should I do this?
There is not automatic way to do this. You would probably need to program an app for this purpose or use Confluence's REST to update the page based on the Excel document.
It is possible to do this without paying for specialized software if you code a script to automatically generate a google or word doc from your excel file.
I used google sheets and this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLALWX0_OYs
You can then import in bulk into Confluence.
I'm very late but I wanted to post this so others wont have to go through the same frustrating process.

Why don't you just embed the excel file in a confluence page.
Polaris spreadsheet for Confluence allows you to import an excel file in a confluence page. It offers the advanced view mode so you will use fileter, freezing pane, and search. It also provides a full excel editor mode. So you can manipulate data whenever you need.
