how to increase the dropdown width of confluence search box?

I am trying with customizing confluence stylesheet:

the code am using is:

1. #com-atlassian-confluence .aui-dropdown {
2. width: 42em;
4. }
   

But it does not work.There is followinc code:

• element.style {
• width: 42em;
• }

whichoveridess the above code.

Why is it so?

I am able to increase the width of the searchbox with the following code

.aui-dropdown.aui-dropdown-left.aui-box-shadow { width: 42em !important; }

div.aui-dd-parent.quick-nav-drop-down { width: 42em !important; }

But it does not work in mozilla.Why is it so?Plz help me.
