You get the page IDs in urls when the name of the page contains punctuation or encodable characters.  Try changing the name of the page to something plain (e.g. "My cat's health" won't have a human readable url, but "The health of my cat" will)

The page id version of a url is always available, the human friendly one is only there when the name is usable

You can always use the Tiny Link on the Page Information page instead of the pageId version. It's a bit more user-friendly, although not as much as you would like.

Or, you could create a page kb.mysite.com/customers and have it redirect to the real page, if you want to give out a URL like kb.mysite.com/customers.
