Did you mean:

just got an "Your organization has been deleted due to inactivity"

Adrian Dobrea June 8, 2025

Hi all - while using Confluence (I'm on the free version, with a single user), I just got an email saying "Your organization has been deleted due to inactivity" - quite a bummer :)

I checked everywhere in the admin interface, couldn't find any info about it or an option to cancel the deletion, so not 100% sure what the next steps are ...

Basically it says "your space ___ has been deemed inactive after having no apps or managed accounts in the last 180 days."

Also this: "When you contact support, include your organization ID: d0703k7c-4cb7-1k2j-kd3a-22k7j9935127."

Couldn't figure out how to contact support either, as it seems to be just a set of canned Q&As ...

Thanks!

Hi @Adrian Dobrea

As far as I'm aware your site should become active again when you start working with it again.

I have seen message like this in relation to my sites a well, so far the only thing I needed to do was use the site on a daily bases.

However if you want more assurance that your site is not deleted, then reaching out to support is probably your best bet, they are over at getsupport.atlassian.com.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Mark, much appreciated!

when you say " the only thing I needed to do was use the site on a daily bases" do you actually mean the "daily" part literally?

I hope not :)

Sure thing.

When it comes to daily driving the site, you need to make sure you site is actively used so Atlassian will not delete it.

Daily driving the site makes sure its active, maybe you can start with daily at first, followed by ever-other day, or weekly afterwards.

I have not seen the deletion notification mail in a while so not sure if there are any other pointers you can follow to keep the site active.

Same here. I received the same email. But my organization seems not to have been deleted. Maybe a bug, mistake, or some security issue?

Yep, looks more like a bug ...

Cheers

I just received this message, and my organization was deleted as well as my account. I had to recreate my account just to log in here. Since I was on the Free plan, I cannot contact support (which is crazy). I should not have been deleted -- I logged into Bitbucket last week and made some changes. I didn't event get a warning. If I had gotten warning, I would have exported all of my data -- now I can't because apparently it's all been deleted. I'm pretty upset about this.
