makes the change notes field mandatory

When I try to make and edit and update a confluence page, I want to have a pop-up which asks me to select an option which upon validation makes the change notes field mandatory.

I can see how useful this feature may be for specific workflows. However, this is not possible natively in Confluence. This was suggested some time ago but was ultimately ruled out by Atlassian:

CONFCLOUD-33546 - Add configuration option for 'What did you change?' or 'Notify watchers'
