Did you mean:

show the content of an attachment in the page itself. How can I do this?

Frank Nägele August 17, 2020

I have some charts which are created with python scripts and uploaded to Confluence as attachments.

On a confluence page I want to show the content of the uploaded .PNG file, so that the defect chart is shown directly on a confluence page, not only after opening the attachement.

How can I do this?

Hi @Frank Nägele

If I understand correctly, you simply want to display the image on the page without the need to click on attachments?

Easy to do -- you'll want to read the Display Files and Images guide

Hope that helps!

Hello Thomas,

i guess i thought a little bit to complex.

Your suggestion works.

I´ve have one more question. Is this import of the picture a one time import, or will this also change, as soon as I´ll upload a new version into the same attachement?

So the picutres I want to show are defect charts, which will be updated once a week.

Hi @Frank Nägele

Glad the first bit works :)

In terms of attachments -- if you upload one with the same name, Confluence will version it and the updated picture will show. So with your import, ensure you keep the titles the same, and then Confluence will swap out the displayed image with the most recent version.

(You can play with this concept manually by uploading a file, modifying it and re-uploading it. In the attachments you will see something like the below)
