swap confluence license

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: How to get a Confluence Developer license

I'm standing up a new AWS instance to use as a staging server, and then I'd like to swap it with our production instance, and decommission the old instance. 

If I move the license to another instance, will I run into a problem with our production license being associated with a different server?

You may use your Developer license while doing a server to server migration. You just need to ensure you flip your new server over to your full license once the migration has been compelted.
