we had installed the tracking plugin, while using the macro to the existing space we got below error:
Error rendering macro 'tracking-table' : Error parsing contents, only 'tracking-column' macros may be used within the body of a 'tracking-table' macro.

The resolution to this issue is you have to insert the code inside wiki markup and insert the wiki markup on desired page
{} Please insert
tracking-plugin:spaces=@self inside flower braces (as it displays unknown macro in Atlassuan Answers
This works fine for me.
Let me know if you need any help on this and vote if the above solution finds helpful.

Hello there,
Check if the version that you have installed is compatible with the version of Confluence that you have installed, also, try to reinstall the tracking pluing to see if you can render it. Make sure that all the modules are enabled.

I have a similar problem - and is random.
Occasionally when you load the page it has the error. If I refresh the page the macro/report loads as expected - and in the preview option (while editing) it loads ok.
Version 4.3.0 on Confluence 6.5.1
Cheers

Could this error occur due to the number of pages in a confluence space? I have over 4000 in my space.
