unable to get the context of selected text

i am developing a confluence cloud plugin using forge custom ui which uses 

"confluence:contextMenu" module by using forge/bridge i am getting only the selected text but i need the index and count same as inline comment how works, want to get the selection context
1. window.getSelection() doesnot work from forge iframe.

Although it is awesome to share those questions here so other users with similar questions can see if there was any solutions to the case, for the apps specifically, in your case a forge app, my suggestion would be trying our Developer Community, in the section for Forge questions:

• Atlassian Developer Community - Forge 

I believe they would be better prepared and have more context to help you with the Forge and app questions, as it is out of the product support scope.
