Recommended size of profile image?

I am working with Confluence 5.9.9. Which dimensions should a new image for the own profile have, to be not unnecessarily scaled?

Hi Andrei,

Here's what I do on our Confluence system.

We are using Confluence 6.2.4. The profile image is displayed at different dimensions in different areas.

I've noticed the dimensions used in the following areas:

• 16 x 16 pixels - user picker
• 24 x 24 pixels - upper right corner
• 32 x 32 pixels - icon used to display you are editing 
• 48 X 48 pixels - people profile, personal space logo, blog post, profile macro, etc.
• 128 x 128 pixels - setting your profile image

I don't want to use a large size image when it's displayed in a small space. Since 48 x 48 pixels is the most commonly used, I scale my profile images to this size. I like to choose clear images without a lot of detail so the smaller sizes look decent as well. (I didn't follow this method on this site.)
