I'm trying to update a Confluence installation, and on the last step of the upgrade-test now.
My problem is this:
On the old Space, there are some elements "hard-coded" into the sidebar. There is a tree view, a search-box and some shortcuts. All these elements can be implemented directly using the sidebar editor, and I assume that is best for future "upgradability".
The issue is now that even though I've reset all the Layouts to default, the old data is still there! Where else can I look to find these elements?
I've attached a picture to show what I'm looking at. The elements encircled in red are the old (redundant/hard-coded) stuff, the elements encircled in green are what I want to be left with (plus some shortcuts).
I found the solution at last. I had been looking in the Confluence Look & Feel, but this was in the Space Look & Feel, a page-reference in the sidebar-field. Once I removed the reference, the sidebar behaved as expected.
I believe part of the problem lay in how the database was transitioned over from Oracle 11 to Oracle 12, causing this page-reference to not appear in the Look & Feel section. (I discovered this solution on a new test-environment that had used a different approach to transition to Oracle 12.)
Online forums and learning are now in one easy-to-use experience.
