Hi everyone,
I’m using the Checklist Macro (inline tasks) in Confluence Data Center, and I need a way to restrict who can mark a task as complete or incomplete.
Right now, anyone with edit access to the page can check/uncheck tasks, but I want only the assigned user (tagged with @username
or ri:user
) to be able to mark them as done.
For example, I have:
Task 1 - @John Doe
Task 2 - @Jane Smith
Only John should be able to check/uncheck Task 1, and only Jane should be able to check/uncheck Task 2. Other users shouldn’t modify these.
I prefer a solution that doesn’t require restricting the entire page since multiple people need to contribute to it.
Is there a way to enforce this? Maybe through permissions, a plugin, or a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
This macro is fairly basic and doesn't have the options that you need to restrict it. They are other marketplace addons you can explore that do have additional conditions.
If you can't use other addons, you should be able to create an automation to unset the task if it wasn't the correct user.
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, automation is not available in my Confluence Data Center version, so I can’t use that approach.
Do you happen to know of any Marketplace add-ons that allow restricting who can check/uncheck tasks based on the assigned user?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks again for your help!
