Hi community,

We are running into a problem when one our of confluence users tryies to incldue a HTML webpage in a confluence page using the html-include plugin.

We have checked that the website and port is in our whitelist: *<website address>.net:7001/*

We can telnet into the client server (from confluence server), curl the website (from confluence server) and view the page from a web browser (personal PC).

The confluence logs state the same thing that the web page says which is:

Error rendering macro 'html-include' : com.atlassian.renderer.v2.macro.MacroException: com.atlassian.confluence.macro.MacroExecutionException: org.apache.commons.httpclient.ConnectTimeoutException: The host did not accept the connection within timeout of 20000 ms

As you can see, we have even changed our default timeout settings to 20000 ms.

Any ideas?

This turned out be an issue with the site we are trying to include not being behind SSL. Putting it behind a SSL certified end point resolved it for us.
