Hi All and especially @Andy Brook
I have a question on Confluence SU that I run into quite a bit. I have new users tell me, "I need access to Confluence" So I go in an SU as them and see that their access is already setup but they have not logged in before. So I get the welcome message below. I do not want to fill out the questions, but need to log back in as my user ID. There is a 24 hour timeout and I do not know how to exit SU without either filling in the answers for them (I do not want to do that) or wait 24 hours to get automatically logged out. Is there any way to exit SU via backdoor?
Thanks!
Robert
Sit back, relax, and let us show you the basics.
BTW for others the only workaround I have found if you run into this is to use a different web browser until the timeout. So I always use Chrome, but when I get stuck and have to wait for user timeout, I temporarily jump to Firefox. Not ideal, but is a way around it.
If the user needs to be logged in /Su'd, in order to be provisioned, in order for you to grant access to spaces, then yes, that's what I'd do.

OK thanks Andy! Really the problem is not that I need to su to give them space access or anything, that they say I need access to Confluence without even trying to access so I su to them and then (after under my breath curse word) kindly ask them to TRY, but am stuck until they do.
Really what I need to do is to ask them first have you tried this link, but old habits are hard to break :-) Any user problem? 1st thing: SU to them and see what they see. It truly is an absolute must have tool for anyone who supports others with Atlassian tools.
