Hi everyone,
The search box that usually appears at the top of the left-side navigation panel for the Documentation Theme has gone missing.
I've done the following:
1) Removed all custom HTML, on the off chance that I was overwriting it somehow.
2) Checked that all modules for the Documentation theme were enabled.
The search box still has not come back.
What should I try next?
Ah, gottit, I know this one now.
Check the settings for the global search - if that has been restricted to "current space", then you don't get the "local" search box in the documentation theme
It's pretty obscure, and, from memory, it IS documented. One sentence in the middle of a huge great brain-dump of a document, and it doesn't stand out at all :-(

It's usually enabled or disabled by a tick-box in the theme's settings - maybe one of your admins accidentally clicked it off?
Confluence Admin -> Look and Feel -> Theme -> configure this theme -> checkbox at the top of the list.

Hi Nic,
There's only two boxes:Page Tree, and Limit search results. Both are checked.
The page tree itself is visible. It's only the search box that usually appears above the page tree that's missing.
