This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Export Content to Word, PDF, HTML and XML
After I exported a published space to HTML, we notice the Search tab above the main Table of Contents does not find 99.9% of the pages. It appears that zoom_pageinfo.js and the other files exported in scripts/search are not updated before or during the export operation. We see Legal Notice in search and it is also in zoom_pageinfo.js. But nothing else can be found. Can you explain how we can get Search functionality in our exported output? Some way to refresh the index perhaps before, during, or after export? Thank you.
We ended up with a process where the exported ZIP was opened and the files indexed by Zoom Search Engine Pro version and then re-zipped so we can deploy. The search function seems like it works but often we see 490 results found, as though 490 were some kind of max limit. But the user is really only interested in the top few anyway. The score ranking seems odd as a search result page with a score of 4000 will appear before one with a score of 8000 followed by one with 5000 then 2000. It always baffles me how easy search should be and how complicated and under-performing actual implementations seem to be in the market.
Hi Damon,
You can use Scroll HTML Exporter to create HTML exports with custom design and offline search: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.k15t.scroll.scroll-html/server/overview
The add-on indexes all the content during the export phase and you can search right within the exported document.
Cheers,
Roman.

I suspect you'll find that the search is part of Confluence code, not part of the html. If you need it indexed and searchable, you'll need to implement something that can do it on the server your exports are going to.

have you tried 'Space indexing'?
