Server to Cloud Migration - unexpected error

Thomas Hutmacher November 10, 2022

Hey!

We tested the migration and it worked. Unfortunately we still worked on the server for 2 months. Now i wanted to do an delta migration - which wasnt possible.

So i did a new migration -> spaces already exists.

-> no problem - i deleted the space in the cloud. Just wanted to do it again.

-> created a new migration in the assistant on the server.

-> now i get an unknown error ... :(

any clue to fix this?

First way: if you migrated to a totally new Confluence Cloud instance, that'd, I guess, work. If you can do that, it is the easiest thing probably.

Second way I'd try, is:

  1. migrate to a new temporary Confluence Cloud instance
  2. move the spaces from this temporary instance to your final one: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/import-a-confluence-cloud-space/ (maybe there is a tool resolve conflicts, maybe there is no conflict at all, it is worth a try)

Thanks for your reply, aron!

Support checked the logfiles and detected an error regarding SSL authentification. After checking our firewall we detected a new blocked connection. fixing this solved the error. migration is now running.

your suggestion would be my fallback plan.

have a nice weekend!
